The objective of the Auxiliary shall be to have women interested in the welfare of the Angus breed meet together for educational, promotional, social and other functions appropriate to this organization.

Making Things Happen

The Missouri Angus Auxiliary is dedicated to the promotion and advancement of the Angus breed and our young people.  They sponsor and host a variety of educational, promotional and social activities throughout the year.

The queen and princess program give young women the opportunity to develop leadership and public speaking skills they’ll use throughout life.  The queen receives a $150 clothing allowance plus expenses.  The princess is allotted $100 plus expenses.  A new ambassador program for young men is also being developed.  Two $1,000 scholarships are awarded each year to a deserving young man and woman.

Funding for these important programs is provided by membership, donations and the sale of merchandise.   Witte Angus of Mount Sterling donated a heifer which was sold at the 2000 Futurity. This generous contribution generated $1,100.  Circle A Angus of Iberia donated a heifer for the  2001 sale.  The Ways & Means area has a variety of items for Angus enthusiasts of all ages.  The addition of a silent auction during the Futurity Banquet will provide additional revenue to support the youth programs.

Join Us

We invite you to join this dynamic group of individuals that are making things happen for the Angus breed and the talented young people that are also involved in this great breed of cattle.

Membership dues are $10.00, paid annually, and is open to any interested person.

American Angus Auxiliary

The Missouri Angus Auxiliary works in cooperation with the American Angus Auxiliary to provide leadership, educational and recognition programs for junior Angus members.

The national Auxiliary sponsors the CAB Beef Cookoff, Silver Pitcher & Crystal Awards at the National Junior Angus Show.  They also provide support for the National Junior Angus Showmanship Contest.  Five girls and five boys are selected from state scholarship winners to receive a total of $15,000 in scholarships.  The female recipients then vie for the title of Miss American Angus.  The Certificate of Achievement awards provide recognition for junior exhibitors in all states.  Ways & Means are an important source of funding for these programs.

"The auxiliary has always been a tremendous supporter of the Junior Association. Last year I was fortunate enough to receive one of the auxiliary scholarships. With the high costs of  a college education this financial assistance has proven to be a big help. In preparation for the National Queen contest the moral support I received from the women of the auxiliary  was great, they were there to answer my questions and offer valuable advice ."

“I greatly appreciate what the Auxiliary has done for me.  This scholarship has helped as I need all the help I can get for my education.  I enjoy being part of the Angus Industry where help like this is always welcomed.”
