The Missouri Angus Queen and Princess program is supported by the Missouri Angus Auxiliary.  The Missouri Angus Queen and Princess opportunity was designed in an effort to create a program that supports the growth and education of young women in Missouri who are involved in the production and/or promotion of Angus cattle. 

The Missouri Angus Queen and Princess will be selected and announced in June at the Missouri Angus Preview Show, Sedalia, MO.  Applicants should be available for interviews prior to the announcement during the Sunday show. 

Following are the eligibility requirements for Missouri Angus Queen :  

  • Applicants must be 16 – 21 years of age.

  • Applicants must be involved in the Angus business and show a commitment to the promotion of Angus cattle.

  • Applicants must be residents of the state of Missouri.

  • Applicants must commit to attend the following events:  Missouri Angus Futurity, Columbia, MO (February), Missouri Angus Preview, Sedalia, MO  (June), Ozark Empire Fair, Springfield, MO (August), Missouri State Fair, Sedalia, MO (August) and the American Royal Livestock Show, Kansas City, MO  (November).  The Missouri Angus Queen is also encouraged, but NOT required to attend the National Junior Angus Show.

  • Applicants must include with their application : one wallet size portrait (school) photo, one candid photo of involvement in an Angus activity and one candid photo showing involvement in a school or community activity.

The Missouri Angus Auxiliary will provide the Missouri Angus Queen with the following:   

  • A $150.00 clothing allowance

  • A $50.00 lodging allowance for one night’s stay at each required event

  • Round trip mileage (25 cents per mile) for each of the required events

  • A Missouri Angus Queen tiara and banner

Reimbursement for the above mentioned expenses requires a mileage log and receipts.  Reimbursement for expenses will be made at the end of one’s reign. 

The Missouri Angus Queen is to conform to the official dress code of Miss American Angus.  Skirts, dress slacks, blazers, dresses, riding boots and or dress shoes are most appropriate.  Hats are NOT allowed.  Jeans are NOT allowed unless the queen is showing cattle, in which case only black or khaki jeans are appropriate. 

Applications must be postmarked by May 1.
