Individual (bull, female, cow/calf pairs & junior heifer and steer show) classes
will be made up and divided after cattle are checked in at the show. Classes will be at a maximum of thirty (30) day spread. No more than ten (10) head per class. They will be judged youngest to oldest. OPEN SHOW BULLS AND FEMALES: The Purebred Bull Show will consist of bulls born on or after January 1, 2008 to February 28, 2010. The Purebred Female Show will consist of females born on or after September 1, 2008 to February 28, 2010. Purebred Shows: Bulls & Females will have division breaks as show permits. Bull and all Female Championship classes will be as follows: JUNIOR CALF CHAMPION & JUNIOR CALF RESERVE CHAMPION LATE SENIOR CALF CHAMPION & LATE SENIOR CALF RESERVE CHAMPION EARLY SENIOR CALF CHAMPION & EARLY SENIOR CALF RESERVE CHAMPION LATE SUMMER CHAMPION & LATE SUMMER RESERVE CHAMPION EARLY SUMMER CHAMPION & EARLY SUMMER RESERVE CHAMPION LATE JUNIOR CHAMPION & LATE JUNIOR RESERVE CHAMPION EARLY JUNIOR CHAMPION & EARLY JUNIOR RESERVE CHAMPION LATE SENIOR CHAMPION & LATE SENIOR RESERVE CHAMPION EARLY SENIOR CHAMPION & EARLY SENIOR RESERVE CHAMPION SENIOR CHAMPION & SENIOR RESERVE CHAMPION (Bull Show Only) GRAND CHAMPION & RESERVE GRAND CHAMPION JUNIOR HEIFER SHOW & PERCENTAGE SHOWS JUNIOR & OPEN: FEMALES & BULLS: The Bull Show will consist of bulls born on or after January 1, 2008 to February 28, 2010. Purebred Junior Heifer Show Championship classes will be as follows: (Note 3rd, 4th, & 5th division champions are in the Purebred Junior Heifer Show Only) JUNIOR CALF CHAMPION & JUNIOR CALF RESERVE CHAMPION THIRD PLACE DIVISION, FOURTH PLACE DIVISION, FIFTH PLACE DIVISION SENIOR CALF CHAMPION & SENIOR CALF RESERVE CHAMPION THIRD PLACE DIVISION, FOURTH PLACE DIVISION, FIFTH PLACE DIVISION SUMMER CHAMPION & SUMMER RESEVE CHAMPION (Purebred Female Show Only) THIRD PLACE DIVISION, FOURTH PLACE DIVISION, FIFTH PLACE DIVISION LATE JUNIOR CHAMPION & LATE JUNIOR RESERVE CHAMPION THIRD PLACE DIVISION, FOURTH PLACE DIVISION, FIFTH PLACE DIVISION EARLY JUNIOR CHAMPION & EARLY JUNIOR RESERVE CHAMPION THIRD PLACE DIVISION, FOURTH PLACE DIVISION, FIFTH PLACE DIVISION SENIOR CHAMPION & SENIOR RESERVE CHAMPION THIRD PLACE DIVISION, FOURTH PLACE DIVISION, FIFTH PLACE DIVISION GRAND CHAMPION & RESERVE GRAND CHAMPION THIRD PLACE OVERALL, FOURTH PLACE OVERALL, FIFTH PLACE OVERALL JUNIOR STEER SHOW: These classes will consist of steers born on or after January 1, 2009. Steers will be divided by weight. Junior Steer Show Championship classes will be as follows: GRAND CHAMPION STEER RESERVE GRAND CHAMPION STEER COW/CALF CLASS OPEN AND JUNIOR SHOW BOTH PUREBRED AND PERCENTAGE: Calf must be cow’s natural calf, not an embryo transplant. Calf is not to be older than December 1, 2009. No age restriction on cow. Calf is eligible to compete in individual calf classes if shown with dam, a separate calf entry is required. Cow/Calf Class Championship classes will be as follows: GRAND CHAMPION COW/CALF PAIR RESERVE GRAND CHAMPION COW/CALF PAIR PETER COURTNEY SUPREME BRED & OWNED CHAMPION MEMORIAL: JUNIOR SHOW All five Bred and Owned Champions compete. Champion Bred and Owned: Steer, Percentage Heifer, Purebred Heifer, Percentage Cow/Calf pair and Purebred Cow/Calf pair. KNIC OVERPECK SUPREME CHAMPION MEMORIAL: All six open shows Grand champions will compete both Percentage and Purebred: Grand Champion Bulls, Grand Champion Females and Grand Champion Cow/Calf pairs. DENNY BENOODT PREMIER BREEDER MEMORIAL: Open show combined totals; Female, Cow/Calf and Bull, both purebred and percentage will be awarded on a three-point scale. GROUP CLASSES: CALF GET OF SIRE: Three (3) animals, both sexes represented, all by the same sire and shown in individual classes. Animals should be born on or after September 1, 2009. May be owned by more than one exhibitor. GET OF SIRE: Four (4) animals, both sexes represented, all by the same sire and shown in individual classes. May be owned by more than one exhibitor. PRODUCE OF DAM: Two (2) animals, either or both sexes represented, both shown in individual classes. May be owned by more than one exhibitor. BEST PAIR BRED & OWNED: Two (2) animals, either or both sexes represented, both shown in individual classes. Both animals must be owned and bred by the exhibitor. (THE OWNER AND BREEDER MUST HAVE THE SAME ASA MEMBERSHIP NUMBER ON THE ANIMAL’S REGISTRATION PAPERS). BREEDERS HERD: Five (5) animals, either or both sexes represented, all shown in individual classes and bred by one exhibitor (THE BREEDER MUST HAVE THE SAME ASA MEMBERSHIP NUMBER ON ALL REGISTRATION PAPERS). Your Farm name, address and phone number will be listed in the Show Program. Barn Social Sponsor: $25.00 helps support the Barn Social get together prior to the Embryo Auction. You will be listed in the Show Program. Simmental Breeders Sweepstakes Membership: Life Membership, one payment of $500.00 or six consecutive annual payments or $100.00; Annual Membership $100.00. Privileges: Farm Listed in Show Program, Late Entries, Stalling Preference, Voting Rights, hold an Office or serve on the Executive Committee. Stalling Preference: Founding Members have first preference. Life Members have second preference. Annual members by membership status have third preference. Non members have fourth preference. Extra space will be provided to animals not entered in the SIMMENTAL BREEDERS SWEEPSTAKES. The cost will be $50.00 per animal. Please notify the Sweepstakes office in advance. Bedding for your stalls will be provided at a fee of $30.00, per one yard of bedding, per animal.
