  Breeding Show Classification

  

Individual (bull, female, cow/calf pairs & junior heifer and steer show) classes will be made up and divided after cattle are checked in at the show. They will be judged youngest to oldest.

Classes will be at a maximum of thirty (30) day spread.  No more than ten (10) head per class.

OPEN SHOW BULLS & FEMALES
The Purebred Bull Show will consist of bulls born on or after January 1, 2006 to February 29, 2008.  The Purebred Female Show will consist of female born on or after September 1, 2006 to February 29, 2008.  Bull and all Female Championship classes will be as follow:

JUNIOR HEIFER SHOW & PERCENTAGE SHOWS JUNIOR & OPEN: FEMALES & BULLS

The Bull Show classes will consist of bulls born on or after January 1, 2006 to February 29, 2008. All Female Show classes will consist of females born on or after September 1, 2006 to February 29, 2008. Percentage Shows Junior & Open: Bulls & Females will have division breaks as show permits.  Purebred Junior Heifer Show Championship classes will be as follow: (Note: 3rd, 4th, & 5th division champion are in the Purebred Junior Heifer Show Only!)

JUNIOR STEER SHOW:

These classes will consist of steers born on or after January 1, 2007.  Steers will be divided by weight. Junior Steer Show Championship classes will be as follows:

COW/CALF CLASS OPEN AND JUNIOR SHOW:

Calf must be cow’s natural calf, not embryo transplant.  Calf is not to be older than December 1, 2007.  No age restriction on cow.  Calf is eligible to compete in individual calf classes if shown with dam, a separate calf entry is required. Cow/Calf Class Championship classes will be as follows:

KNIC OVERPECK SUPREME CHAMPION MEMORIAL:

The following three Open Show winners will compete for Supreme Champion:  Grand Champion Purebred Female, Grand Champion Purebred Bull, and Grand Champion Purebred Cow/Calf. 


DENNY BENOODT PREMIER BREEDER MEMORIAL:

The following three Purebred Open shows combined totals, Female, Cow/Calf and Bull will be awarded on a three-point scale.


GROUP CLASSES:

CALF GET OF SIRE: Three (3) animals, both sexes represented, all by the same sire and shown in individual classes.  Animals should be born on or after September 1, 2007.  May be owned by more than one exhibitor.

GET OF SIRE:  Four (4) animals, both sexes represented, all by the same sire and shown in individual classes. May be owned by more than one exhibitor.

PRODUCE OF DAM: Two (2) animals, either or both sexes represented, both shown in individual classes. May be owned by more than one exhibitor.

BEST PAIR BRED & OWNED:  Two (2) animals, either or both sexes represented, both shown in individual classes.  Both animals must be owned and bred by the exhibitor. (THE OWNER AND BREEDER MUST HAVE THE SAME ASA MEMBERSHIP NUMBER ON THE ANIMAL’S REGISTRATION PAPERS).

BREEDERS HERD:  Five (5) animals, either or both sexes represented, all shown in individual classes and bred by one exhibitor (THE BREEDER MUST HAVE THE SAME ASA MEMBERSHIP NUMBER ON ALL REGISTRATION PAPERS).  May be owned by more than one exhibitor.

Banner Sponsors:  Division Sponsor $50.00; Reserve Grand Champion $75.00; Grand Champion $100.00.  Champion and Reserve Division Banners include Junior Calf, Senior Calf, Summer, Intermediate, Junior and Senior Divisions.  Grand and Reserve Grand Champion Banners include Junior Steer Show, Junior Percentage Heifer Show, Junior Heifer Show, Junior Cow/Calf pair Show, Percentage Female Show, Female Show, Cow/Calf Pair Show, Bull Show and all Group Classes.  Your Farm name, address and phone number will be listed in the Show Program.

Barn Social Sponsor:  $25.00 helps support the Barn Social get together prior to the Embryo Auction.  You will be listed in the Show Program.

Simmental Breeders Sweepstakes Membership:  Life Membership, one payment of $500.00 or six consecutive annual payments of $100.00; Annual membership $100.00.  Privileges:  Farm Listed in Show Program, Late Entries, Stalling Preference, Voting Rights, hold and Office or serve on the Executive Committee.

Stalling Preference:  Founding Members have first preference.  Life Members have second preference.  Annual members by membership status have third preference.  Non members have fourth preference.

Extra Space:  will be provided to animals not entered in the SIMMENTAL BREEDERS SWEEPSTAKES.  The cost will be $50.00 per animal.  Please notify the Sweepstakes office in advance.

Bedding for your stalls will be provided at a fee of $25.00, per one yard of bedding, per animal.  You may bring your own feed and bedding for your tie outs or you may obtain it through Rick of Feeder's Supply at 502-212-0433 ext 209.  If the same animal is entered in the AJSA Classic you do not need to pay a second bedding fee.
