It is a privilege to
welcome you to our 34th Annual Production Sale. We have been breeding
Simmental cattle since 1970! It’s a great time to be in the cattle
business so don’t miss this opportunity to purchase Simmental-Angus
cattle from an outstanding foundation herd.
Once
again this year’s offering follows the Trauernicht tradition –
functional and performance oriented cattle with style in mind. Our
cattle are all screened for performance, disposition, and eye appeal.
We continue using the Angus breed in combination with the Simmental
breed to help add function and heterosis to our cattle. We feel
strongly that the Simmental genetics are a necessity to keep up
performance and muscle. That is why these two breeds complement each
other so well. To further enhance the quality of our herd, we use only
the top registered Simmental and registered Angus bulls available. This
offering you will find several outstanding Simmental and Simmental/Angus
individuals. We will be offering one of the fanciest sets of open
heifers we have ever had the privilege to sell; there is truly one for
everyone. The bred heifers have al been developed in a “traditional
commercial” environment and have been bred to bulls known for calving
ease. We strive to produce beef that is tender, well marbled, and have
a large rib eye. One of the tools we use in order to facilitate this is
the Gene Star tenderness test. Carcass EPD’s are a must, which is the
reason we use only the very top registered Simmental and registered
Angus bulls with high accuracy EPD’s. This year’s bulls are the
stoutest, thickest and deepest we have ever had to offer for you. The
bulls have been on a high roughage ration to create muscle rather than
fat. On the average, these bulls have gained 3 pounds per day. These
bulls are “hard” and ready to go to work breeding cows. Please contact

This year Trauernicht
Simmentals would like to go one step further in assisting our customers. We
would like to help you in marketing your calves. This past year we have
started working with order buyers. In fact we have already filled several
large orders of Sim-Angus open heifers sired by bulls carrying the LHT
Brand. We keep a record on every bull sold with the LHT brand which is
important since buyers are more confident purchasing calves with this
information. We would like to hear from you as to the number of heifers and
steers you would be interested in having us assist you in marketing this
coming year.
Finally, we continue to work
with Laura’s Lean Beef in order to provide an option for our slaughter
bulls. Laura’s Lean Beef buys lean, drug free slaughter bulls. They pay a
premium for bulls that are carrying the LHT Brand. This program has
benefited many of our customers in the past. Please contact us if you have
bulls that are ready for slaughter and would like details regarding Laura’s
Lean Bee program.
